What does the tour in the port of Calpe consist of?

Meeting at the entrance of the fishing port. We will start by visiting an authentic fishermen's hut, taking the opportunity to give a brief introduction about the historical and geographical context of the port of Calpe and explain the different types of fishing practiced there, with historical photographs of the port and original fishing gear or scale models.

We will continue the tour in the port of Calpe, at the dock: we will experience the intense activity of the port. We will witness the arrival of the boats from Calpe (small artisanal boats in the morning, and the coastal fishing fleet in the afternoon), talk about the different species they unload, and the work the fishermen do on board. Other important elements of the port will be explained (ice factory, work of the net makers, environmental initiatives supported by the fishermen, etc.).

To conclude the tour in the port of Calpe, we will visit the fish market and observe live the fish auction show (only available in the afternoon), explaining the different steps of the process. In the morning, the auction will be explained with photographs or video.
