What does the one-day fisherman experience in Torrevieja consist of?
We offer 2 different maritime tours or fishing routes:
Option 1. Land Sailor:
Our experience begins at the fishing pier, where we will take a tour and a specialized guide will explain the origins of Torrevieja and its relation to fishing life. Next, we will enter the traditional fish market and witness the fish auction, which until a few months ago was closed to the public. Afterwards, we will closely watch the boats unloading that have been fishing all night. The tour will continue with the guide explaining the various traditional fishing techniques, and we may even visit the net makers who will show us how they hand-sew the nets.
Option 2. Maritime Tourism:
This experience begins by carrying out the "Land Sailor" option one, then we will board a cruise ship and take a tour inside the bay, where we will see a different perspective of the submarine and the entire bay (from the pier or the promenade).
We will learn about the salt pier and discover its history in a completely different context.
Next, we will sail to the fishing grounds where the smaller craft boats will be waiting to explain how they work and what species they are fishing. On the way back, we will enjoy a walk along our coasts, and we might even take a swim.
The tour will culminate with a tasting of the fresh fish caught that day.
