Discover the incredible gem of Cabo de Gata through the Kayak route to Playa de los Muertos and snorkeling in the sea caves
Playa de los Muertos is one of those places that was famous even before the concept of going viral on social networks. But is it as beautiful as people say? In my unsolicited opinion, I will tell you that yes, it is. It is one of those beaches that leaves no one indifferent. There are hundreds of beaches in Spain and most are very common. This, due to its shape and especially its history, makes Playa de los Muertos a must-visit place by kayak.
We will leave from Playa de las Carboneras, aboard a kayak, with which we will enjoy the area of cliffs until reaching Cala de Las Salinicas. This is a small cove with turquoise blue and crystal-clear water, a virgin volcanic environment, white sand in the form of small pebbles, and sheltered from the wind.
After visiting this cove, we continue our itinerary until we glimpse the famous Punta de los Muertos. It is a small cove, where you will already notice the marine currents and we can already guess why the beach is named as such, right? After turning the point, one of the most beautiful beaches in Spain, Playa de los Muertos, awaits us.
Finally, we will visit the cave near the Acantilados de Mesa Roldán where we will go snorkeling inside the cave,
Playa de los Muertos is one of the most attractive places in the Cabo de Gata - Níjar Natural Park. Thousands and thousands of photos on social networks support our biased opinion about this cove. Additionally, within the itinerary of this water activity in Cabo de Gata, we visit Cala Las Salinicas, which is the "little sister" of Playa de los Muertos. Just as spectacular and with much less influx.
Actually, we should rather consider the question the other way around, that is, who isn't it aimed at because this kayak trip to Playa de los Muertos appeals to anyone looking to have fun, enjoy the Mediterranean Sea, adventurous and eager to laugh while discovering one of the most beautiful beaches in Spain. Thus, you'll agree with us that there are very few people who wouldn't enjoy this water activity in Cabo de Gata. There may be some, but I doubt they would be reading this text if that were the case. They are the pizza with pineapple of water sports.
