La Cova Tallada is a sea-level cave located in the marine reserve of Cape San Antonio in Jávea, Alicante. Its name refers to the fact that it was a quarry of "piedra tosca," a sandstone used in building construction. Its walls still show the marks of this activity.
We will start the hiking route to Cova Tallada in Denia or Jávea (depending on group availability). Initially, we will follow the path leading to Torre del Gerro, a 16th-century watchtower that guarded against pirate attacks.
From the top, we can admire the beauty of the Mediterranean Sea and the towns of Jávea and Denia. We will continue towards the sea along a wide clifftop path, safe for walking, and descend using artificial stairs reinforced with logs until reaching Cova Tallada.

The cave is spectacular, about 75 meters wide and 15 meters high. Additionally, Cova Tallada has “doors” through which water and light enter, and even canoes can go in.
The sea is intensely blue and transparent, belonging to the natural reserve of Cape San Antonio.
The cave has large passageways where sandstone was extracted for construction purposes.
