Embark on an unforgettable adventure along the dramatic Maro-Cerro Gordo cliffs in a guided kayak tour. This protected natural area on the Costa del Sol features impressive rock formations, sea caves, and one of Andalusia’s best-kept secrets: the Maro Waterfall, a 15-meter freshwater cascade that flows straight into the sea.
During the tour, you'll also visit the Maro Ravine, Caleta de Maro, and—if sea conditions allow—the hidden Sea Lion Cave, a striking natural formation shaped by the waves. Paddle through narrow passages carved into the cliffs and enjoy exclusive views of some of the most spectacular coastal scenery in southern Spain.
Throughout the route, your expert local guide will share fascinating insights about the area’s geology, wildlife, and history. There will also be time for a refreshing swim in crystal-clear waters and a snorkeling session with gear provided—perfect for discovering the marine life beneath the surface.
The activity starts at Maro Beach, just a few minutes from Nerja, where you'll receive a short safety briefing. The guided tour lasts around 2 hours and 15 minutes and includes visits to:
The towering cliffs of the Maro-Cerro Gordo Natural Area
The majestic Maro Waterfall or “Chorrera de Maro”
The mysterious Sea Lion Cave (weather permitting)
Hidden coves and sea passages only accessible by kayak
You’ll make several stops to swim, snorkel, or simply relax and take in the beauty of this natural coastal paradise.
